William L. Sparkman

William L. Spark­man, 86, of Ostran­der died Mon­day (May 21, 2012) in River­side Hospital.

He was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Catletts­burg, Ky., to William and Della (How­ell) Spark­man. He proudly served his coun­try in the Navy dur­ing World War II. He was a retired truck dri­ver for the Colum­bus Dis­patch and an employee of Clean­ers Extra­or­di­naire. He was an ani­mal lover who enjoyed feed­ing the squir­rels and birds and his great­est love was for his family.

He is sur­vived by his wife, Anna; two daugh­ters, Eva Bianchi and son-in-law Joe Bianchi of Delaware and Debra (George) Bargdill of Ostran­der; two sons, John (Paula) of Prospect and William (Donna) of Delaware; 12 grand­chil­dren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sis­ter, Cather­ine Lewis of Ash­land, Ky.

He was pre­ceded in death by his son, Keith; two grand­sons, William and James Spark­man; and two broth­ers and two sisters.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs­day and from 1 to 2 p.m. Fri­day at The Robin­son Funeral Home where a funeral ser­vice will fol­low at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Engle offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will fol­low in Fairview Ceme­tery, Ostrander.
