Anna M. Dearth, 92, of Delaware passed away early Saturday morning (June 16, 2012) at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.

She was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Columbus to Charles and Virginia (Smith) Gussler. She worked as a receptionist for Riverside Methodist Hospital and Battelle Memorial Institute. She was a volunteer at Grady Memorial Hospital, past member of the Delaware Community Lions Club and former board member of the Sarah Moore Home. She was a very graceful lady who took an interest in life and people and she was always a terrific host. She enjoyed her dogs and even at the age of 90 purchased a 6-week-old puppy. Up until a year and a half ago, she was still driving, going to the Senior Center, texting and emailing.

Family was very important to her and she is survived by her daughter, Mary “Mitzi” Michel of Delaware; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; several stepchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren that she was fond of; several devoted nieces and nephews; and her canine companions, Sophie and Schneider.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth R. Morris; second husband, Robert Richwine; third husband, William Dearth; daughter, Patricia Burton; brothers, Charles and Vernon Gussler; sister, Juanita Courtney; and two canine companions, Barney and Spencer.

A Celebration of Life and sharing of memories will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at Mitzi’s home, 60 Welshire Ct,, Delaware. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
