Catherine Helen (Foley) Stoffel

Cather­ine Helen (Foley) Stof­fel, 94, passed away on Sun­day (June 17, 2012).

She was born in Delaware on Oct. 29, 1917, to the late John and Kather­ine Mil­lea Foley, and she was a grad­u­ate of St. Mary’s High School. Cather­ine was a mem­ber of St. Mary Mag­da­lene Parish, St. Aloy­sius Parish and a life mem­ber of Beta Sigma Phi Soror­ity. She retired from Mount Carmel Hospital.

Cather­ine is sur­vived by her sis­ter, Patri­cia A. Foley of Delaware; daugh­ters, Anne (Robert) Schaum­l­ef­fel of West­er­ville and Bar­bara (James) McEn­tire of Colum­bus; sons, Allen and Neal Stof­fel of Colum­bus; grand­chil­dren, Car­rie, Dou­glas, David, Thomas and Tim­o­thy Schaum­l­ef­fel, Abbie (Joe) Arrow­smith, and Adam (Michelle) and Amy McEn­tire; great grand­chil­dren, David and Rebecka Schaum­l­ef­fel and Ash­ley and Anna Arrow­smith; niece, Kathy Barkhurst; nephew, William McNa­mara; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Along with her par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Don­ald E. Stof­fel; brother, John Foley; and sis­ter, Anna Mar­garet McNamara.

Fam­ily will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tues­day, June 19, with a rosary ser­vice at 7:30 p.m. at the Schoedinger Hill­top Chapel, 3030 W. Broad St. A Mass of Chris­t­ian Bur­ial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednes­day at St. Mary Mag­da­lene Church, 473 South Roys Ave. with the Rev. Stan­ley Benecki as cel­e­brant. Inter­ment will fol­low at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flow­ers, con­tri­bu­tions may be made to the Amer­i­can Heart Asso­ci­a­tion or the St. Mary Mag­da­lene St. Vin­cent de Paul Society.
