Women rescued in Cleveland happy to be home
George Flournoy Jr., 72, of Delaware died Sunday (June 3, 2012) at The Arbors of Delaware.
He was born May 14, 1940, in Waynesboro, Ga., to Willie Mae (Ellison) and George Flournoy Sr. A graduate of Willis High School, he was a retired employee of Ranco Inc. and then worked at The Holiday Inn.
He enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He was a true lover of life friends and family.
He is survived by one daughter, Cynthia (Gene) Hunt of Newark; three sons, George, Sean (Amy) and Michael, all of Delaware; grandchildren, Jesse Hunt, Taz, Blain, Griffin, Selena, Eben and Dominic Flournoy; six sisters, Janie, Hazel, Evelyn, Beverly, Carolyn and Vicki; his former spouse, Carolyn; and many nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Clarence.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at The Robinson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Zion A M E with the Rev. Madonna Gray officiating.
