Darla Kay Jurden

Darla Kay Jur­den, 44, of Sun­bury passed away unex­pect­edly early Sat­ur­day morn­ing (July 14, 2012) at St. Ann’s Hos­pi­tal, Westerville.

She was born Nov. 20, 1967, in Newark to Richard Jur­den and Della (Kean) Sey­mour. She was a grad­u­ate of Delaware Hayes High School and worked at Dol­lar Gen­eral. She was a mem­ber of St. John Neu­mann Catholic Church, Sun­bury, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed fish­ing and camp­ing and loved the Pitts­burgh Steel­ers. She also loved fam­ily get-togethers and spend­ing time with her chil­dren and granddaughter.

She is sur­vived by her mother and step­fa­ther, Della (Dale) Sey­mour of Heath; son, Aaron of Sun­bury; daugh­ters, Kali Hil­yard (fiance’ Adam Reynolds) of White­hall and Tiffani Hil­yard of Sun­bury; grand­daugh­ter, Sky­lar Reynolds; fiance’, David Cook of West­er­ville; step­sons, Nick Cook of Rox­boro, N.C., and Zach Cook of Heath; broth­ers, David (Mar­ilou) Jur­den of Hemet, Calif., Dan (Ann) Jur­den of Bren­ham, Texas, and Doug (Wendy) Jur­den of Delaware; sis­ter, Deanna Jur­den of Sun­bury; step­brother, Andy (Melody) Sey­mour of Lin­col­nton, N.C.; two spe­cial step­cousins, Michelle and Sam Faiella of Sun­bury; and 10 nieces, five nephews, two great-nephews and one great-niece.

She was pre­ceded in death by her father, Richard Jurden.

A memo­r­ial mass will be cel­e­brated at 10 a.m. Fri­day, July 20, at St. John Neu­mann Catholic Church, 9633 Ohio 37E, Sun­bury with the Rev. Fr. David Size­more offi­ci­at­ing. The fam­ily will receive friends one hour prior to the mass. Bur­ial will be later at St. Joseph Ceme­tery in Newark.

    Darla will be so missed. I talked to her a while back and we had great laughs talk­ing about school, her liv­ing with Deanna and Ryan in Delaware and liv­ing in White­hall. I am so sorry. My prayers and sym­pa­thy goes out to the entire family.
