David J. Webb
David J. Webb, 81, of Mount Gilead died Friday morning (June 29, 2012) at Riverside Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1930, in Webbville, Ky., to the late Clyde and Grace Hazel (Hill) Webb. He had worked at the Galena Brick Plant, Nestle and at Ranco as a laborer.
David was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. David also liked to spend time at home sitting on his porch smoking his pipe, working in his barn and passing the time. David enjoyed coon hunting, raising cattle and horses, gardening and his dogs. David would take something apart and put it back together again just to see how it worked.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Evans) Webb and they were married Oct. 22, 1949, in Greenup, Ky.; sons, Darel (Rhonda) Webb of Ashley and George (Patty) Webb of Marengo; daughters, Roxanne (Charlie) Stewart of Sparta and DeAnn (fiancée, Randy) Partlow of Marysville; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Tina Doane of Sunbury.
He was preceded in death by brothers, George and Herbert; and sisters, Jewel Webb, Peg Owens and Mary Elizabeth Doane.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. JR Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery.
