David J. Webb

David J. Webb, 81, of Mount Gilead died Fri­day morn­ing (June 29, 2012) at River­side Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1930, in Web­bville, Ky., to the late Clyde and Grace Hazel (Hill) Webb. He had worked at the Galena Brick Plant, Nes­tle and at Ranco as a laborer.

David was a fam­ily man and enjoyed spend­ing time with his chil­dren, grand­chil­dren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. David also liked to spend time at home sit­ting on his porch smok­ing his pipe, work­ing in his barn and pass­ing the time. David enjoyed coon hunt­ing, rais­ing cat­tle and horses, gar­den­ing and his dogs. David would take some­thing apart and put it back together again just to see how it worked.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Evans) Webb and they were mar­ried Oct. 22, 1949, in Greenup, Ky.; sons, Darel (Rhonda) Webb of Ash­ley and George (Patty) Webb of Marengo; daugh­ters, Rox­anne (Char­lie) Stew­art of Sparta and DeAnn (fiancée, Randy) Part­low of Marysville; seven grand­chil­dren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a sis­ter, Tina Doane of Sunbury.

He was pre­ceded in death by broth­ers, George and Her­bert; and sis­ters, Jewel Webb, Peg Owens and Mary Eliz­a­beth Doane.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sun­bury, where ser­vices will be held at 11 a.m. Tues­day with the Rev. JR Smith offi­ci­at­ing. Inter­ment will fol­low in the Marengo Cemetery.
