Robert E. Collins

Robert E. Collins, 42, of Delaware died sud­denly Wednes­day (July 18, 2012) in Colum­bus from injuries sus­tained in an accident.

Born in Delaware on Oct. 25, 1969, he was a grad­u­ate of Buck­eye Val­ley High School and Delaware JVS in 1989. Self employed, he worked in the con­struc­tion and paint­ing trades. With a very easy­go­ing per­son­al­ity, he was one who loved build­ing and tin­ker­ing with his hands. Always wor­ried about his fam­ily, he was a flir­ta­tious prac­ti­cal joker. Robert attended the Lake Street Church of God in Delaware and favored movies and play­ing video games. Sim­ply put, he enjoyed life.

He is sur­vived by daugh­ter, Kasaun­dra M. Collins; mother, Mar­garet L. (Tip­ton) Collins; broth­ers, John of Rich­wood, Don­ald (Norma) of Tif­fin, William (Jill) of Card­ing­ton and Ken­neth (Pam) of Delaware; sis­ters, Wanda Collins of Delaware and Bon­nie (Bur­nis) Evans of Ash­ley; and many other half broth­ers and sisters.

He was born to Vir­gil and Roberta Collins, but was adopted by his grand­fa­ther Rush Collins who pre­ceded him in death in 2004; his grand­mother, Vel­vet Collins died in 1977; and step-brother, James “Jimmy” Todd in 1993.

Grave­side ser­vices will be held at 1 p.m. Sat­ur­day, Aug. 4, in Marl­bor­ough Ceme­tery with the Rev. Daniel Mau­rer offi­ci­at­ing. Arrange­ments have been entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Delaware.
