Shirley Ann Deel
Shirley Ann Deel, 75, of Delaware passed away early Saturday morning (July 7, 2012) at the Delaware Court Health Care Center.
She was born June 25, 1937, in Delaware to James Everett and Alice Madeline (Jones) Bailey. She retired from Ohio Wesleyan University after 23 years of service as head cook and then worked for an additional seven years in the SACC Program with the Delaware City Schools. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR, camping and crocheting. She was known for baking cakes especially for weddings and birthdays. She was “always on the go” and her daughters remember her as always taking them to the Richwood Fair.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna (William) Hostetter of Marion and Linda Jo (Danny) Cameron of Richwood; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Jay (Diane) Bailey of Prospect; and sister, Judy (Dick) Patrick of Radnor.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Janet Ellen Bailey.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the Greenmound Cemetery, Kilbourne.
