Daloris A. “Dee Dee” Price, 49, of Columbus and former longtime Delaware resident was taken from us tragically by accident Thursday morning, Oct. 27, 2011 while a pedestrian in Columbus.
Born in Delaware on October 27, 1962 she was the daughter of the late Robert H. Price and Carolyn (Flournoy) Williams of Delaware. A graduate of Delaware Hayes High School in 1981, she studied data entry at Delaware JVS and was a member of the Hayes track team, running on the 440 relay team. She had been an employee of Advance Auto in Delaware for many years and recently became a transportation engineer with Urban Transport in Columbus. With a loud personality and at times bossy, she was always enthusiastic and very spiritual. She was a devoted member of the AGAPE International Cathedral, her favorite place. Always loving, she treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a weakness for peanut M & M’s, chocolate ice cream and ice cold Pepsi. Her door was always open; she was gifted in housing the homeless or anyone in need. She will be remembered for her love of family, whom numbered many more than her own.
She is survived by her mother: Carolyn (Herbert) Williams, children; Triyonnia Price, Tersheika, and Terryun Lewis, and all of Delaware, grandchildren: Meesha and Malachi Lewis, sisters: Deborah Simpson of Delaware, Heidi Johnson of Columbus, Tonya Price of Delaware, Latears Campbell of Columbus, brothers: Stanley (Tawanna) and Joshua Williams of Marion, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, extended family and a host of dear friends.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where services celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Wesley Moore officiating. Friends may also call one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
