William F. Cox

William F. Cox, 75, of McArthur, peace­fully passed away Thurs­day (Aug. 23, 2012) at River­side Methodist Hos­pi­tal in Columbus.

He was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Delaware, son of the late Fred­er­ick L. and Lucille Eas­ton Cox. William was mar­ried to Luretta Greene Cox, who sur­vives. He for­merly worked for Dou­ble M Con­struc­tion in Jackson.

William is sur­vived by his sons, Larry E. (Linda) Cox of Lan­caster and Jerry L. Cox of McArthur; a daugh­ter, Ellen K. (Harold) Ratliff of Lan­caster; grand­son, Christo­pher (Sarah) Ratliff of Lan­caster; a great-grandson, Will H. Ratliff; broth­ers, Don­ald (Heidi) Cox of Geor­gia, Ken­neth (Patty) Cox and David (Brenda) Cox both of Delaware; sis­ters, Jane Paulsen of Cal­i­for­nia and Ruth Ban­ner of West­er­ville; and numer­ous nieces and nephews.

In addi­tion to his par­ents, he was pre­ceded in death by his grand­son, Shaun Ratliff; a brother, Ronald Cox; and sis­ters, Wilma Sloan and Rose­mary Greene.

Funeral ser­vices will be held 11 a.m. Tues­day, Aug. 28, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with the Rev. Shawn Banker offi­ci­at­ing. Inter­ment will be in Hixon Ceme­tery, McArthur. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Mon­day at the funeral home.
