An online resource listing the 2012 values of Delaware County real estate has gone live.
New values can be checked by visiting co.delaware.oh.us/auditor and clicking on the blue “2011 Property Values” banner across the top of the page. The website allows users to check their properties by entering their last name or unique parcel ID number.
The information will not be incorporated into property value database at delawarecountyauditor.org until November or December, when 2012 property values will be finalized, said Delaware County Auditor George Kaitsa.
The auditor’s office has set up a hotline at 740-833-2930 for those who have questions about their new property values, and the office will also hold a series of public information events throughout the year for those who wish to informally challenge the values.
Overall, Delaware County properties will lose $958.1 million in total value next year, including $894.2 million for residential properties, after the auditor’s office’s latest revaluation. As a result, the owner of a $200,000 home will see their base property tax rate to decrease by an average of about $34 — a figure which may increase when calculating in new voted tax levies.
