Lowell Robert Cumston Sr.
Lowell Robert Cumston Sr., 72, of Delaware passed away Saturday afternoon (Sept. 8, 2012) at the Arthur James Cancer Center, Columbus.
He was born July 4, 1940, in Delaware County to Adra and Mary Grace (Wells) Cumston. He was a 1958 graduate of Willis High School and retired in 2002 after 44 years with Delo Screw Products. He was a member of the Vintage Auto Club of Delaware and was very proud of his 1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT. A “Ford Man,” he enjoyed the outdoors and was a “farmer at heart.” He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his German shepherd, “KCee.”
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mildred (Davis); son, Lowell Jr. (Cindy) of Bixby, Okla.; daughter, Linda Cumston of Delaware; two grandchildren, Katelyn and Carley; brother, Paul Cumston of Bradenton, Fla.; sister, Helen Rogers of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph; and three sisters, Louise, Ruth and Dorothy.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today (Tuesday), Sept. 11, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, and where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, with his nephew the Rev. Randy Davis officiating. The family will then host a reception and additional fellowship in the Snyder-Rodman Community Room. Graveside services will then be held at 2 p.m. in the Broadway Cemetery.
