Maynard Warner Dils

May­nard Warner Dils, 82, went to be with the Lord Fri­day (Sept. 21, 2012) while at St. Ann’s Hos­pi­tal in Westerville.

May­nard was born to Earl and Irene Dils on April 30, 1930, in Miamis­burg. He started his career as a dairy farmer, served in the Air Force dur­ing the Korean War and was an accoun­tant for the state, park man­ager for Hue­ston Woods, city man­ager for Eaton, Sid­ney NE and retired from the City of West­er­ville. May­nard was a devoted Chris­t­ian hus­band, father and a loyal friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 57 years, Bar­bara; sons, Ted and Den­nis (Cindy); daugh­ter, Kathy Hixon (Troy); eight grand­chil­dren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Dils; and other rel­a­tives, loved ones and friends.

He was pre­ceded in death his sis­ter, Betty Horne; broth­ers, Robert and Roger; brother-in-law, Jerry Horne; and sister-in-law, Nedra Dils.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Sat­ur­day, Sept. 29, with the funeral ser­vice at 11 a.m. at the First Bap­tist Church of Sun­bury, 12259 N. Old 3C Hwy, Sun­bury, with the Rev. Dan Brown officiating.
