Maynard Warner Dils
Maynard Warner Dils, 82, went to be with the Lord Friday (Sept. 21, 2012) while at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.
Maynard was born to Earl and Irene Dils on April 30, 1930, in Miamisburg. He started his career as a dairy farmer, served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was an accountant for the state, park manager for Hueston Woods, city manager for Eaton, Sidney NE and retired from the City of Westerville. Maynard was a devoted Christian husband, father and a loyal friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara; sons, Ted and Dennis (Cindy); daughter, Kathy Hixon (Troy); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Dils; and other relatives, loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death his sister, Betty Horne; brothers, Robert and Roger; brother-in-law, Jerry Horne; and sister-in-law, Nedra Dils.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, with the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Sunbury, 12259 N. Old 3C Hwy, Sunbury, with the Rev. Dan Brown officiating.
