Phyllis Loudermilk McCann
Phyllis Loudermilk McCann, 87, of Marysville and formerly a longtime resident of Shawnee Hills began her journey with the Lord on Wednesday (Sept. 12, 2012) at the Gables.
Born in Marion to the late Ralph and Pearl Powell, Phyllis was the former owner of the Boat Store Restaurant on Glick Road and McCann’s Restaurant in Columbus. Phyllis served as past president of the Four Star Senior Citizens, was an active driver with Meals-On-Wheels and served on the advisory board of the Delaware Senior Citizens. Active in Shawnee Hills, she was a past trustee of the Shawnee Hills Civic Association, was a past councilwoman of the village council and served as “Mrs. Claus” for several years in the Shawnee Hills Village Christmas Parade.
Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Gary (Donna) Loudermilk of Delaware and Lee (Bonnie) Loudermilk of Fredericktown; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Sassard of Marysville, Doris Hopper of Powell and Myrna (Tom) Craft of Hilliard; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was loved and will be missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry McCann; brother, Donnie Powell; and brothers-in-law, Robert Hopper and Michael Sassard.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 W. Olentangy St., Powell, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, with the Rev. Paul K. Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Maskill Cemetery, near Marysville.
