Stephen Jay Arthur Sr., 60, passed away early Tuesday (Oct. 11, 2011) at Grady Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 3, 1951 in Springfield to Charles and Evelyn (Swigart) Arthur. Stephen owned and operated his own construction company known as Arthur Construction for the past 35 years. He was a Harley Davidson Enthusiast; he loved to ride motorcycles, boating and skiing. He was known as a hard worker, and most of all a wonderful father. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge 376.

Stephen is survived by his three daughters, Stephenie, Stacy and Lindsay Arthur; three sons, Stephen J. Arthur Jr., Connor and Caleb Helman; three grandchildren, Russell, Alannah and Jack; three brothers, Greg, Tom (Pam) and Rick Arthur; and two sisters, Crystal (Tim) Queen and Toni Rae Arthur; and his partner in life, Linda Kartak.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Shawn and Kendra Arthur; and a nephew, Joshua Dague.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home in Delaware. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home with burial following in Oak Grove Cemetery.
