Anna Margaret Saurers

Anna Mar­garet Saur­ers, born April 26, 1933, passed away Thurs­day (Oct. 4, 2012) at her residence.

Anna, known as Mar­garet to her friends, was born in Mid­dle­port dur­ing the depres­sion. She moved to Colum­bus when she was very young, grad­u­at­ing from West High School in 1951 and mar­ry­ing Don­ald in March of 1954. She loved play­ing the lot­tery and slot machines, being a humane soci­ety vol­un­teer, watch­ing Wheel of For­tune and being active in her gar­den and hik­ing clubs.

She is sur­vived by chil­dren, Steven (Becky) Saur­ers, Suzan (Greg) Nobis and San­dra Saur­ers; grand­chil­dren, Sean Saur­ers, Kristo­pher Lake and Christina (Alex) Quinn; two great-grandchildren; and beloved pets, Julie, Belle and Gidget.

She was pre­ceded in death by par­ents, Clarence V. and Sadie V. Lewis, and hus­band, Don­ald L. Saurers.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Mon­day at Jerry Spears Funeral Home with Cre­ma­tory, 2693 W. Broad St., Colum­bus, where ser­vices will fol­low at 7 p.m. Mon­day. The fam­ily requests that dona­tions be made to your local humane society.
