Craig Wasil

Craig Wasil, 50, of Columbus passed away Thursday (Oct. 25, 2012).

He was born June 27, 1962, in Akron. Craig was a 1981 graduate of Delaware Hayes High School where he was known for his ’73 Nova. He attended Kent State and graduated from Ohio University. Craig dedicated his career to help people with mental disabilities as a social worker. Craig was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was genuinely interested in people and will be remembered for his different smiles. He was an outdoorsman who loved to fish, travel, golf, play with his dog and go boating. He knew all kinds of music, meticulously worked on and fixed things and was a grill master. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Craig will be missed by his loving wife of eight years, Malou; parents, Raymond and Pat Wasil; brother, Jeff (Linda) Wasil; sister, Melissa Wasil; and nieces and nephews, whom Craig dearly loved and referred to him as “Fun Uncle Craig,” Carys, Collin and Briana.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (just south of Interstate 270). The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at All Shepherds Lutheran Church, 6580 U.S. 23, Lewis Center, with the Revs. Wendy and Craig Richter officiating. Viewing at the church begins at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Kingwood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Craig’s memory to the Colon Cancer Alliance, 1025 Vermont Ave. NW, Ste. 1066, Washington, DC 20005 or 222.ccalliance.org.
