Esther M. Lazelle

Esther M. Lazelle, 93, of Delaware, passed away Wednes­day (Oct. 3, 2012) in the Hos­pice Room of Grady Memo­r­ial Hospital.

She was born in West­field Town­ship on July 13, 1919, to the late Henry and Lilly M. (Long) Wilt and was a life­long area res­i­dent. While work­ing as a set­ter at Ranco Con­trols, she met her husband-to-be, Mar­ion E. “Bud” Lazelle. She and Bud were mar­ried on Oct. 1, 1955, recently cel­e­brat­ing their 57th anniversary.

A home­body, she pos­sessed many won­der­ful qual­i­ties. She was good natured and always pos­i­tive. An aspir­ing artist at heart, she enjoyed paint­ing in the medium of oils, cre­at­ing detailed land­scapes. She enjoyed win­ters spent in Florida and loved all ani­mals. Cook­ing was one her spe­cial­ties, never from a recipe it was always by a pinch of that and a dab of this. The sweet taste of her amaz­ing home baked pies will long be remembered.

She leaves to trea­sure her mem­ory her beloved hus­band, Bud; nephew, Dick (Linda) Brown­ing of Delaware; as well as a host of dear friends.

In addi­tion to her par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by her sis­ter, Irma M. Brown­ing on Sept. 17, 1984.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Mon­day at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Cen­ter, 1510 W. William St., Delaware, where a ser­vice cel­e­brat­ing the life Esther Lazelle will fol­low at 4 p.m. Mon­day with Cel­e­brant Don Lock­wood offi­ci­at­ing. Inurn­ment will fol­low at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery.
