Evelyn L. Johnston
Evelyn L. Johnston, 91, of Delaware passed away Saturday evening October 20, 2012 at the Sarah Moore Nursing Home, Delaware.
She was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Marion to Curtis and Marie (Gruber) Pace. She was a chemist for the Ohio Department of Health and a Delaware resident since 1956. She enjoyed cross stitching, baking, ice cream and she loved her grandchildren. She was a woman with great tenacity and was also a very loving, caring and giving person who enjoyed being able to talk and spend time with her family.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Marie (Lee) Nothstine of Columbus and Phyllis (Albert) Messer of Delaware; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver; daughter, Claudia Askins; brother, Robert Pace; and a sister, Virginia Jones.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens, Marion.
