Evelyn L. Johnston

Eve­lyn L. John­ston, 91, of Delaware passed away Sat­ur­day evening Octo­ber 20, 2012 at the Sarah Moore Nurs­ing Home, Delaware.

She was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Mar­ion to Cur­tis and Marie (Gru­ber) Pace. She was a chemist for the Ohio Depart­ment of Health and a Delaware res­i­dent since 1956. She enjoyed cross stitch­ing, bak­ing, ice cream and she loved her grand­chil­dren. She was a woman with great tenac­ity and was also a very lov­ing, car­ing and giv­ing per­son who enjoyed being able to talk and spend time with her family.

Left behind to cher­ish her mem­ory are her two daugh­ters, Marie (Lee) Noth­s­tine of Colum­bus and Phyl­lis (Albert) Messer of Delaware; 12 grand­chil­dren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and sev­eral nieces and nephews.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents; hus­band, Oliver; daugh­ter, Clau­dia Ask­ins; brother, Robert Pace; and a sis­ter, Vir­ginia Jones.

The fam­ily will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of funeral ser­vices at 1 p.m. Thurs­day, Oct. 25, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Cen­ter, 1510 W. William St. at Val­ley­side Drive, Delaware. Bur­ial will fol­low in Chapel Heights Mem­ory Gar­dens, Marion.
