Harold R. Criswell

Harold R. Criswell, 91, of Prospect, died Sat­ur­day, (Oct. 13, 2012), 2, at Mar­ion Pointe, Marion.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1921, in Mar­ion County to the late Frank and Iva (Eber­sole) Criswell. On June 15, 1944, he mar­ried Fan­nie (Eckard) Criswell and she sur­vives in Prospect. They cel­e­brated 68 years of mar­riage this year. Harold was a 1942 grad­u­ate of Waldo High School and a mem­ber of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waldo. He was a char­ter mem­ber of the Waldo Sports­man Club and a mem­ber of the Beth­le­hem Grange.

The life­long farmer is sur­vived by his wife, Fan­nie; two daugh­ters, Sharon Warner of Prospect and Rebecca Criswell of Marysville; three grand­chil­dren, Kar­rie (Brad Cronin) Warner, Mark (Jes­sica) Warner and Mor­gan Laci (Chad) Oliver; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Ade­laide, Macken­zie, Trent and Cheyenne; two broth­ers, Paul (Delores) Criswell of Galion and Charles (Pat) Criswell Sr. of Waldo; and one sis­ter, Vera Oehler of Prospect.

Harold was pre­ceded in death by two broth­ers, Richard and John Criswell; and two sis­ters, Peggy Shep­pard and Esther McCombs.

The funeral ser­vice will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thurs­day, Oct. 18, in the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with bur­ial to fol­low in the Waldo Ceme­tery. The Rev. Sarah Schaff will be offi­ci­at­ing. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
