Harold R. Criswell
Harold R. Criswell, 91, of Prospect, died Saturday, (Oct. 13, 2012), 2, at Marion Pointe, Marion.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1921, in Marion County to the late Frank and Iva (Ebersole) Criswell. On June 15, 1944, he married Fannie (Eckard) Criswell and she survives in Prospect. They celebrated 68 years of marriage this year. Harold was a 1942 graduate of Waldo High School and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waldo. He was a charter member of the Waldo Sportsman Club and a member of the Bethlehem Grange.
The lifelong farmer is survived by his wife, Fannie; two daughters, Sharon Warner of Prospect and Rebecca Criswell of Marysville; three grandchildren, Karrie (Brad Cronin) Warner, Mark (Jessica) Warner and Morgan Laci (Chad) Oliver; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Adelaide, Mackenzie, Trent and Cheyenne; two brothers, Paul (Delores) Criswell of Galion and Charles (Pat) Criswell Sr. of Waldo; and one sister, Vera Oehler of Prospect.
Harold was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and John Criswell; and two sisters, Peggy Sheppard and Esther McCombs.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Waldo Cemetery. The Rev. Sarah Schaff will be officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
