Hazel Francis (Haner) (Evans) Stout

Hazel Fran­cis (Haner) (Evans) Stout, 87, passed away Sat­ur­day morn­ing (Oct. 27, 2012) in the Hos­pice House in The Vil­lages, Fla.

She was born Nov. 27, 1924, the daugh­ter of Ervin and Irene (Camp­bell) Haner of Patriot. Hazel began work­ing at Albers Super­mar­ket in 1953 in the dairy depart­ment. Over the years, Albers sold to Colonel Stores then to Food World, where Hazel worked as the front end man­ager and trainer until her retire­ment in 1985.

Hazel lived in Grove City for more than 40 years and was a mem­ber of Our Lady of Per­pet­ual Help in Grove City until her retire­ment. She and Larry moved to Sum­mer­field, Fla., in 1993 and became a mem­ber of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Lees­burg, Fla. Hazel loved walk­ing, five miles every morn­ing. She also enjoyed exer­cis­ing, golf, ten­nis, bowl­ing and swim­ming. Hazel enjoyed trav­el­ing and had the oppor­tu­nity to see many coun­tries and cruises to favorite vaca­tion spots. Hazel, Larry and her lit­tle dog Tina, trav­eled through­out the United States, enjoy­ing the won­der­ful sites and his­tor­i­cal cities.

Hazel is sur­vived by her lov­ing hus­band, Larry A. Stout of Delaware; daugh­ters, San­dra J. (Evans) Louis Calderone of West­er­ville and Patri­cia L. (Evans) Holt of Colum­bus; brother, Ben­jamin (Mer­rie) Haner of Upper Arling­ton; grand­daugh­ter, Linda R. ( Andy) Sta­hovi­awk of Colum­bus; grand­son, Michael D. Holt of Mem­phis, Tenn.; and great-granddaughter, Erica J. Higgen­bothem of Colum­bus. Hazel is also sur­vived by many lov­ing nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and friends. We loved you more and will miss you.

Hazel was pre­ceded in death by her first hus­band, Ralph B. Evans Jr.; her par­ents, Ervin and Irene Haner; broth­ers, Willard, Pearlie and Lawrence Haner; sis­ters, Flo­rence Hoops and Ida (Hal­ley) Deyo; grand­son Anthony Calderone II; and son-in-law, David J. Holt.

The fam­ily will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thurs­day Nov. 1, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Cen­ter, 1510 W. William St., Delaware, where rosary ser­vices will be held at 4 p.m. Mass of Chris­t­ian Bur­ial will be held at 10 a.m. Fri­day, Nov. 2, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William St., Delaware, with the Rev. Fr. James Black offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will fol­low in St. Mary Ceme­tery, Delaware. The St. Mary Bereave­ment Com­mit­tee will then host a recep­tion in the Snyder-Rodman Com­mu­nity Room fol­low­ing the ser­vices at graveside.

Flow­ers will be accepted or memo­r­ial con­tri­bu­tions may be made in Hazel’s name to the Alzheimer’s Asso­ci­a­tion, 1379 Dublin Road, Colum­bus, OH 43215 or to Cor­ner­stone Hos­pice, 601 Casa Bella, The Vil­lages, Florida 32162.

The Snyder-Rodman Funeral Cen­ter is hon­ored to serve the Stout fam­ily and mem­o­ries may be shared and con­do­lences expressed by vis­it­ing snyderfuneralhomes.com.
