James D. Stockdale
James D. Stockdale, 75, of Ormond Beach, Fla., and formerly of Delaware passed away Friday (Oct. 12, 2012) at Florida Memorial Hospital after a short battle with cancer.
Jim grew up in Delaware and graduated from Willis High School. He apprenticed under Bob Barnhart where he learned how to clean and repair office equipment. He purchased the business and added office supplies and the business grew. He moved several times in downtown Delaware to accommodate the expansion. His last location was 27 W. William St. After selling his office supply business Jim purchased Kintz Bar on Lake Street. At holiday times he would open his doors to all for a free turkey dinner with all of the trimmings. He was very generous and liked to help out his friends. Jim will be missed by his family and friends especially Steve, his brother and best friend. He dearly loved his two dogs, Bo Bo and Wacky. A special thank you to Vicki Stockdale for her help.
Jim is survived by his son, Robert (Beth) Stockdale of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Jillian, Will and Clay Stockdale; two sisters, Vicki (Dave) Maggard of Delaware and Kathy (Les) Hayes of Winter Garden, Fla.; and one brother, Steve Stockdale of Daytona Beach, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Stockdale, and one sister, Virginia Reece.
His body was cremated in Florida. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
