James D. Stockdale

James D. Stock­dale, 75, of Ormond Beach, Fla., and for­merly of Delaware passed away Fri­day (Oct. 12, 2012) at Florida Memo­r­ial Hos­pi­tal after a short bat­tle with cancer.

Jim grew up in Delaware and grad­u­ated from Willis High School. He appren­ticed under Bob Barn­hart where he learned how to clean and repair office equip­ment. He pur­chased the busi­ness and added office sup­plies and the busi­ness grew. He moved sev­eral times in down­town Delaware to accom­mo­date the expan­sion. His last loca­tion was 27 W. William St. After sell­ing his office sup­ply busi­ness Jim pur­chased Kintz Bar on Lake Street. At hol­i­day times he would open his doors to all for a free turkey din­ner with all of the trim­mings. He was very gen­er­ous and liked to help out his friends. Jim will be missed by his fam­ily and friends espe­cially Steve, his brother and best friend. He dearly loved his two dogs, Bo Bo and Wacky. A spe­cial thank you to Vicki Stock­dale for her help.

Jim is sur­vived by his son, Robert (Beth) Stock­dale of St. Louis; three grand­chil­dren, Jil­lian, Will and Clay Stock­dale; two sis­ters, Vicki (Dave) Mag­gard of Delaware and Kathy (Les) Hayes of Win­ter Gar­den, Fla.; and one brother, Steve Stock­dale of Day­tona Beach, Fla.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, James and Mary Stock­dale, and one sis­ter, Vir­ginia Reece.

His body was cre­mated in Florida. A cel­e­bra­tion of life will be held at a future date.
