Marlin Deel

Mar­lin Deel, 80, of Green Cove Springs, Fla., and for­merly of Delaware, died Tues­day (Oct. 16, 2012) in the Fla­gler Hos­pi­tal, St. Augus­tine, Fla.

He was born May 10, 1932, in Vir­ginia to Mareida and Willougby Deel. He was a vet­eran of the Korean War. He was a tool grinder for Cham­pion Spark Plugs in Toledo from 1969 to 1992.

He is sur­vived by a daugh­ter, Linda (Mike) Friel of St. Augus­tine; two sons, Ira of Indi­ana and Kevin (Penny) of St. Augus­tine; three sis­ters, Doshie (Otis) Ratliff of Delaware, Martha (Wison) Rice of Ten­nessee and Mali­cia (James) Pyles of Green Cove Springs; two broth­ers, Howard and Vadie (Betty) both of Delaware; 11 lov­ing grand­chil­dren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was pre­ceded by a son, Gary; five sis­ters, Sara Counts, Phoeby Oquin, Elitha Col­ley, Elmira Deel and Mary Mitchell; and two broth­ers, Patrick and Woodrow.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sat­ur­day at the Robin­son Funeral Home where a funeral ser­vice will fol­low at 2 p.m. Bur­ial will fol­low in Fairview Memo­r­ial Park. The Rev. Daniel Mau­rer will officiate.
