Marlin Deel
Marlin Deel, 80, of Green Cove Springs, Fla., and formerly of Delaware, died Tuesday (Oct. 16, 2012) in the Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine, Fla.
He was born May 10, 1932, in Virginia to Mareida and Willougby Deel. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a tool grinder for Champion Spark Plugs in Toledo from 1969 to 1992.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda (Mike) Friel of St. Augustine; two sons, Ira of Indiana and Kevin (Penny) of St. Augustine; three sisters, Doshie (Otis) Ratliff of Delaware, Martha (Wison) Rice of Tennessee and Malicia (James) Pyles of Green Cove Springs; two brothers, Howard and Vadie (Betty) both of Delaware; 11 loving grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by a son, Gary; five sisters, Sara Counts, Phoeby Oquin, Elitha Colley, Elmira Deel and Mary Mitchell; and two brothers, Patrick and Woodrow.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Robinson Funeral Home where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. The Rev. Daniel Maurer will officiate.
