Mary Catherine Cronin
Mary Catherine Cronin, 94, of Delaware and formerly of Marion passed away Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 23, 2012) at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.
She was born March 18, 1918, in Corning to William James and Catherine Ann (Verfer) O’ Farrell.
She worked at Denison Engineering as a vane machine operator from 1957–1963 and after moving to Delaware in 1986, she became a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing euchre, crocheting and working on word search puzzles. She enjoyed having her family around whenever possible and especially getting together during the holidays.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her two sons, John W. Cronin of Delaware and Woody (Shirley) Cronin of Marion; daughter, Cathy (Manuel) Terrazas of Indianapolis; and nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brough Elwood Cronin; daughter, Janet Louise Crump; grandson, Robert Lee Cronin; and a sister, Elizabeth Teresa VanWay.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, where a vigil of prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William St., Delaware, with the Rev. Fr. James Black officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Marion.
