Neva Lucas Humphreys
Neva Lucas Humphreys passed from earthly life on Sept. 29, 2012. after a long and full 95 years.
Raised in Tiffin, Neva Lucas graduated from Ohio Wesleyan where she met John R. Humphreys. John R. graduated from Radnor High School and grew up on the family farm on Lawrence Road, Delaware. He was the son of Stanley and Virginia Humphreys, members of the Old Stone Church, PC (USA). Neva and John lived in Marion and later moved to Akron where John R. worked for Ohio Edison, now First Energy. They both were active in Westminster Presbyterian Church and raised their daughter, Holly and son, John W. in Akron. Neva and her husband celebrated their golden anniversary in 1993.
She will be missed by her daughter, Holly; and daughter-in-law, Anita Gram of Boston; daughter-in-law, Connie Humphreys of Jackson, Mich.; and granddaughters, Carolyn Humphreys of Encinitas, Calif., and Jennifer Humphreys of Austin, Texas.
Neva was predeceased by her husband in 1996 and by her son in 2002.
Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct 19, at Radnor Township Cemetery. All are invited to Neva’s Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, to be held at Rockynol Retirement Community, 1150 West Market, Akron.
