Robert Edward Winzenried
Robert Edward Winzenried, 74, of Delaware passed away early Thursday morning (Oct. 4, 2012) at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
He was born Feb. 15, 1938, in Columbus to Ora A. and Louise Marie (Lynch) Winzenried.
Bob was a student of the Columbus Boychoir School from the 4th through the 9th grades, he was able to travel to Europe and appear on the Ed Sullivan Show; graduated from Columbus North High School in 1956; and attended Ohio State University for two years. He retired as the store manager for the Service Merchandise Store in Houston. He moved to Delaware a year ago and began working at Buehlers Food Market in the wine demonstration area. He also enjoyed reading, politics and traveling.
He is survived by a sister, Orlene “Louise” Evans of Delaware; brother, Ora “Bud” (Barbara) Winzenried of Kenton; niece, Kirsten (Kevin) Manley; great-niece, Taylor Shellhammer; Lucy Winzenried; nephews, Eric (Caren) Winzenried and George, David, John and Evan (Lori) Evans; great-nephews, Adam, Andy, Brandon and Cory Evans; Parker Winzenried; and great-great-niece, Lydia Shellhammer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Katrina Winzenried.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Radnor Baptist Church, 4050 Radnor Road, Radnor, OH 43066, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution in his memory may be made to Radnor Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center of Delaware.
