Donald E. Knauber, 86, of Delaware and formerly of Ashley, went to rest in peace with the love of his life, his wife Anna Mae, on Saturday evening July 23, 2011 at the Arbors of Delaware. He was born March 1, 1925 in Delaware County to Earl and Marie (Gale) Knauber. He retired from the Abex Denison Corporation and was a lifetime Delaware County resident. He had a love for life, fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and in general, all children. He was a jack of all trades and built homes for awhile and also tended to a small apple orchard.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda (Richard) Miller and Pat (Bill) Mitchell, all of Delaware; seven grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Ward, Michael (Shelley) Hinkle, Jenny (Gaetano) Nicolosi, Ryan Mitchell, Lisa Mitchell and her fiancé Chris Diaz, Todd (Alejandra) Miller, and Amanda (Ian) Kimmerly; 11 great grandchildren; three sisters, Edith Beardsley of Texas, Jean Hines and Jane (Dale) Wood of Ashley; brother, Richard (Bridget) Knauber of Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews; brother in law, James Ward of Waldo; dear friend, Mel Johnson of Delaware.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anna Mae in 2009, three sisters Ruth Main, Mildred Ward and Kathryn Cook, and a brother George.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Monday July 25th) at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday July 26th with Rev. Gary Underwood officiating. The family will then host a reception in the Rodman Neeper Community Room immediately following the services.
