Main Street Delaware’s Christmas parade will be under way at 3 p.m. Sunday in downtown Delaware.

Parade attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food articles to support People In Need’s (PIN) food drive, which will benefit the annual Holiday Clearing House program.

The Delaware Area Career Center High School Fire Service Training Program is partnering with PIN this year. Students of the program will be walking the parade route with grocery carts to collect donations.

“This is the second time that PIN has conducted a food drive during the annual Christmas parade and we are very excited to have the students of the Fire Service Training Program work with us this year”, said Kevin Crowley, executive director of PIN, in a written press release.

In 2010, PIN distributed enough food to provide more than 18,000 meals through the Holiday Clearing House program. This would not have been possible without the support of our community. Your generous donations are helping us serve the residents of Delaware County who are in need of emergency assistance during the winter holidays.
