Wayne Hardy Phelps
Wayne Hardy Phelps, 60, of Delaware, passed away Wednesday morning (Oct. 31, 2012) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 12, 1952, in Lincoln County, W.Va., to Virgil and Normal (Adkins) Phelps. He attended Buckeye Valley High School and was the owner/operator of Flexible Plumbing and Heating in Delaware. He was a member of the Vintage Auto Club, Delaware and enjoyed going to swap meets and car shows and buying, selling, and collecting guns. He also enjoyed collecting coins and attending flea markets. His greatest joy was raising his granddaughter Carolyne “CK.”
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 19 years, Belinda (DiFrancisco); stepson, Kevin Raines of Delaware; grandchildren, Carolyne “CK” and Jordan; three brothers, Dallas (Beverly) Phelps of Ashley, Darrell (Gail) Phelps of Delaware and Mark Phelps of Ashley; four sisters, Deloris (Smokey) Carpenter of Saint Helen, Mich., Billie Jo McKee of Delaware, Connie (Doug) Fuller of Edison and Gail (Sam) Smith of Ashley; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Dale and Emmitt Phelps and an infant.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, where Celebration of Life Services will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Izetta Torina officiating.
