Wayne Hardy Phelps

Wayne Hardy Phelps, 60, of Delaware, passed away Wednes­day morn­ing (Oct. 31, 2012) at Grady Memo­r­ial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 12, 1952, in Lin­coln County, W.Va., to Vir­gil and Nor­mal (Adkins) Phelps. He attended Buck­eye Val­ley High School and was the owner/operator of Flex­i­ble Plumb­ing and Heat­ing in Delaware. He was a mem­ber of the Vin­tage Auto Club, Delaware and enjoyed going to swap meets and car shows and buy­ing, sell­ing, and col­lect­ing guns. He also enjoyed col­lect­ing coins and attend­ing flea mar­kets. His great­est joy was rais­ing his grand­daugh­ter Car­olyne “CK.”

Left to cher­ish his mem­ory is his wife of 19 years, Belinda (DiFran­cisco); step­son, Kevin Raines of Delaware; grand­chil­dren, Car­olyne “CK” and Jor­dan; three broth­ers, Dal­las (Bev­erly) Phelps of Ash­ley, Dar­rell (Gail) Phelps of Delaware and Mark Phelps of Ash­ley; four sis­ters, Deloris (Smokey) Car­pen­ter of Saint Helen, Mich., Bil­lie Jo McKee of Delaware, Con­nie (Doug) Fuller of Edi­son and Gail (Sam) Smith of Ash­ley; and numer­ous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents and three broth­ers, Dale and Emmitt Phelps and an infant.

The fam­ily will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sat­ur­day, Nov. 3, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Cen­ter, 1510 W. William St. at Val­ley­side Drive, Delaware, where Cel­e­bra­tion of Life Ser­vices will fol­low at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Izetta Torina officiating.

Con­tri­bu­tions in his mem­ory may be made to the fam­ily to help with expenses.

The Snyder-Rodman Funeral Cen­ter is hon­ored to serve the Phelps fam­ily and con­do­lences may be expressed by vis­it­ing snyderfuneralhomes.com.

    Belinda and fam­ily, know my thoughts and prayers are with you . It has been a year of great loss for our fam­i­lies with Con­nie. Julie, my sister-in-law, and now my “cousin” Wayne pass­ing so young in their lives. Heaven is grow­ing! Patti Har­ter Schirtzinger
