It has long been established that there are no clear front lines in our modern wars. Women in supposed non-combat roles are already being exposed to full combat situations and losing their limbs and lives along with the men. This just makes it official. If they choose to do it and can pass the standards, let them do it! And Dr. Kenn, this isn’t a liberal vs conservative issue. Sometimes the women can actually do the job better than some men because they are more highly motivated and know they have something to prove.
Any woman who enlists or is assigned to a Military Police Unit will be in “Combat”. Women receive the same training as men and except for Physical Training Standards meet the same job performance standards. I’ve also known women who met male physical training standards. The Military Police Role is to ensure the safe transport of materials and personnel in theater and continue their law enforcement mission. Additionally they respond to rear area attacks. Jacks of all trades and masters of many, I’ve trusted my life to these women many times over the years.
You are wrong. Look it up on Military.com. Women have been on the front all along. Most YOUNG people feel that there is no problem. As long as they can pass the tests, they should be allowed to do the job. AND The test should not be changed. Just give them a chance.
The fact that 49% have voted yes on this issue only shows that 49% are absolutely clueless about the realities of combat. This liberal “feel good” idea is a disaster and will result in untold numbers of deaths beyond those that might have happened!
