Stanley Ray Schultz, 86, of Delaware died Tuesday (Aug. 23, 2011) in Grant Hospital from injuries sustained in an accident.

He was born April 24, 1925 in Tampico, Ill., to William and Esther (Spotts) Schultz. Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He graduated from OWU in 1951 and received his PHD from OSU in Agricultural Economics in 1960. He was a professor at South Dakota State University, Memphis State University and the Business College of Cleveland State University. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hiram Masonic Lodge and the Powell YMCA where he received the Member Inspiration of the Month.

Ray is survived by his wife, Nancy, whom he married July 29, 1951; two sons, Brad (Alison) of Kearney, Mo., and Greg (Louise) of Columbus; a sister, Bette Sherman of Tampico; a brother, Gary of Belvidere, Ill.; and his beloved dogs, Sonata and Winston.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Robinson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, 73 W. Winter St., with the Rev. Deborah Patterson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Franklin Church Cemetery near Mansfield.
