C-SPAN marketing representative Jennifer Curran looks on as Ohio Wesleyan University President Rock Jones uses a touchscreen kiosk to take a quiz about America’s first ladies during a visit to OWU by a C-SPAN bus Tuesday. The cable public affairs network’s bus, which also visited Hayes High School on Wednesday, was on a tour promoting “First Ladies: Influence and Images,” an upcoming C-SPAN series. Curran said the bus is touring the state because seven first ladies were Ohioans. Because of OWU’s relationship with Lucy Hayes, wife of Delaware native Rutherford B. Hayes, Jones said “it’s especially appropriate” for the bus to visit. Lucy Hayes graduated from Wesleyan Women’s College (which later merged with OWU) in 1850. Curran said the series will air at 9 p.m. Mondays from Feb. 18 to June 10, and will resume in the fall. (Gazette | Paul Comstock)
