PUBLIC NOTICENOTICE OF SECOND PUBLIC HEARINGFY2014 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANTCOMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ALLOCTION GRANT PROGRAM The City of Delaware intends to apply to the Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA) to access approximately $20.2 million of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Cities Community Development Program funds, a federal program administered by the State of Ohio. The first of two required public hearings was held April 8, 2014 to inform citizens about the CDBG program, eligible activities, and other requirements. The City also publicly solicited project proposals from eligible entities in the City, as well as taking into account its own needs. Proposed use of funds is set forth below. The City is eligible to utilize $75,000 in CDBG Community Development Allocation Program funds, providing program requirements are met. One funding request was received. Based on citizen input and local officials’ assessment of needs, compliance with a CDBG National Objective, inclusion in the City’s Community Assessment & Strategy, number of beneficiaries serviced, number of previous awards, and the amount of CDBG funds awarded by ODSA to the City for the Allocation Program, the City is proposing to use the funds as follows: Street Improvements-Fair Avenue-East Side Neighborhood (CDBG Funds/LMI Objective) $60,000Alternate/Supplemental Project: Weiser Avenue (CDBG Funds/LMI Objective)General Administration (CDBG Funds) $12,000Fair Housing (CDBG Funds) $3,000Total $75,000 Activities expected to commence January 2015, construction in Summer 2015, and activities close-out prior to December 31, 2015.
