A 21-point second quarter broke things wide open as the Patriots rolled to a 36-7 Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division victory over the Warriors Friday in Westerville.
Liberty (3-4, 2-2 OCC Cardinal) opened the scoring with a 23-yard Sam Vucelich field goal, then opened the flood gates with three touchdowns in the second quarter.
Myles Robinson started the onslaught with a 65-yard touchdown run to put the Patriots up 10-0, and Joey Longhino threw a pair of touchdown passes, the first a four-yarder to Phil Osolinski and the second a 45-yard strike to A.J. Motika, giving Liberty a 24-0 halftime lead.
Longhino and Osolinski hooked up again on a 24-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, and the Patriots added two on the first play of the fourth quarter when Paul Campbell tackled a Westerville North (0-7, 0-4) runner in the Warrior end zone for a safety.
Vucelich added a 24-yard field goal with 7:06 left in the game to put Liberty ahead 36-0. North’s Kory Watson scored on a one-yard run with 1:12 left in the game and added the extra point for the final margin.
Robinson topped all rushers with 175 yards on 17 carries and his touchdown for Liberty. Longhino was 10 of 14 for 120 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Osolinski caught five balls for 48 yards and two touchdowns to lead the receivers.
Liberty hosts Dublin Scioto at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
