Randall C. Brown, 61, of Upper Arlington passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday (March 3, 2011).

Randy was born in Columbus on Feb. 19, 1950 to the late William and Edna “Pat” Brown. He was a graduate of Upper Arlington High School, and received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Si. Randy earned a master’s degree in education from The Ohio State University. He retired after 30 years in the Buckeye Valley School system, where he taught primarily junior high science and math. Randy was an avid reader, an animal lover and enjoyed traveling, especially during his retirement years.

He is survived by his loving companion of 25 years, Jan Bartlett and her daughters, La Tina Bartlett and Melissa Salyer; his loving aunt, Jean Ludwig; cousins, Susan and Phil Mallers, Bob King and Jean Holmes; and his lifelong, childhood friend, Earl Hill.

Funeral Services for Randy will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, where family will receive friends beginning at noon. The Rev. John Hickman will officiate with interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway.
