Former humane society director pleads not guilty

Robert Bruce Weiser, 84, of Parkersburg, W. Va., died Feb. 26, 2012 at the St. Joseph’s Campus of CCMC.

He was born in Ashley, attended Ashley schools and earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State University in 1954. He worked for the DuPont Company at the Washington Works and in Wilmington, Delaware, for 33 years before retiring in 1989.

Robert is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marion Harris Weiser; sons, Dr. Mark Weiser (Gretchen) of Lexington, N.C., Dr. Jeffrey Weiser (Carolyn) of Beavercreek, Dr. Douglas Weiser of Stockton, Calif.; daughter, Laura Weiser of Columbus; five granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Weiser, in 2001; his parents, Paul and Nina Weiser; brother, Jay (Freda) Weiser; and sisters, Dorothy (Howard) Strait, Pauline (Francis/Buck) Kohler and Betty Joan (Donald) Casteel.

The funeral services were held on Thursday March 1 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Rev. Garry Hogue officiating. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, and from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
