Mason Robinson had a solid game from the plate and the pitcher’s circle, leading the Pioneers to a 3-0 OCC-Capital Division win Friday at Franklin Heights High School.
Robinson went the distance in the circle, striking out 10 and walking just two Falcons. She also helped her cause from the dish, finishing 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Kyle Davidson was also steady for Orange (14-1, 5-0 OCC), going 2-for-3 with an RBI in the win.
Big Walnut 4, New Albany 3
It took all seven innings, but Big Walnut got the win it was looking for Friday against visiting New Albany, scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to escape with the OCC-Capital Division win.
Down 3-2, the Golden Eagles (8-4, 2-3 OCC) loaded the bases in the seventh before Krysten Chadwick played hero, lacing a game-winning single through the infield to score Cheyan Pace and Shelbie Borchers.
New Albany started the scoring with a run in the first. Big Walnut answered with another in the bottom half, but the visiting Eagles went back up with a run in the second and added to the lead with another in the fifth.
The Golden Eagles scored in the bottom of the fifth to cut their deficit to one before Chadwick ended it in the seventh.
Allie Walker got the win in the circle, tossing all seven innings while striking out five and walking none.
Borchers led the attack from the plate, finishing 2-for-4 with two runs. Brooke Hatfield was also solid, closing with two hits in the win.
Westerville Central 6, Olentangy 4
The Braves plated four runs in the sixth to take a 4-3 lead, but the visiting Warhawks answered with three in the seventh to steal an OCC-Cardinal Division win Friday in Lewis Center.
Biz Brehm was the starting and losing pitcher for Olentangy (2-7).
