Ross Beard Heskett, 66, of Centerburg died Monday (Nov. 21, 2011).

He was born on Oct. 22, 1945 in Mount Vernon to the late Jay Ackerman and Shirley Joanna (Beard) Heskett. On Sept. 6, 1970, he married the former Sheila Anne Hord and she survives in Centerburg. Ross was a 1963 Cardington-Lincoln graduate and a machinist for 35 years at Nippert in Delaware. A Vietnam Veteran, he served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Army. Ross was a lifelong farmer, a member of the Centerburg Amvets Post 59, a 4-H advisor, avid collector of ‘things’ and loved to hunt with his sons.

Additional survivors include his children, Heather Clapham of Cardington, Shawn Heskett (Kendra Hardrick) and Matthew Heskett both of Centerburg and Bridget (Donovan) Whetnall of Marengo; and six grandchildren, Blake and Brooklynn Clapham, Makenna and Brady Jay Heskett and Sage and Bristol Whetnall.
