Delaware finds funds, smooths residents’ concerns about Grandview Ave

Olivia Eileen Eagon, 87, of Delaware died Saturday (Sept. 24, 2011) at Wintersong Village.

A lifelong resident of Delaware she was born Sept. 15, 1924 to Homer and Viola (Conway) Askins. She was a retired employee of Ranco, manager of the Holly Shop and an employee of Robinson Flower Shop.

A loving servant of God, she was a member of Pleasant Hill FreeWill Baptist Church where she was a Prayer Warrior. She devoted her life to her family and loved ones and thoughtfully remembered special occasions sending cards to friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Robinson; three sons, Bill (Carole) Piper, Scott (Emmalee) Eagon and Rodney Eagon all of Delaware; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Jones, Reda Selanders and Jan (Eldon) Powell all of Delaware; and two brothers, Eldon (Karen) Askins of Michigan and Jerry Askins of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by a son, Stacy Michael Eagon; three grandchildren, Robbie Robinson, Karen Piper and Heidi Eagon; two brothers, Jack and Merle; sister, Shirley Gabbert; and son-in-law, Don Robinson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Wayne Keith officiating. Burial will be in Radnor Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robinson Funeral Home.
