Delaware’s own steps up to help Sandy victims

Ohio Wesleyan University junior James DiBiasio (Westlake) has been named to the Prospect League All-Star team, it was announced by the Prospect League, a summer collegiate wood bat league with teams in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and West Virginia.

The Prospect League All-Star game will be played today in Beckley, W.Va.

DiBiasio, a second baseman, plays for the Lorain County (Ohio) Ironmen. He ranks second on the team and 14th in the league in batting with a .337 average.

DiBiasio batted .287 for Ohio Wesleyan in 2011. He led the team with 17 stolen bases, and his on-base percentage of .446 ranked second on the squad. DiBiasio is a 2-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection, and was named the NCAC Newcomer of the Year in 2009.

Ohio Wesleyan finished with a 23-15 record, the Bishops’ 26th consecutive winning season and Ohio Wesleyan’s 25th straight year with at least 20 wins. The Bishops finished the regular season with an 11-5 mark in NCAC play and finished as runner-up in the conference tournament.
