Wrestling: Buckeye Valley finishes 4th overall at MOAC Tournament

Sarah M. Wycoff, 61, of Delaware, died early Friday morning (Oct. 7, 2011) at Grady Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 25, 1950 in Delaware to the late Arvin and Iva (Morris) Thomas. She was a lifelong Delaware resident and homemaker. She was an auxiliary member of AMVets Post 104 and Delaware Moose Lodge. She married her childhood sweetheart and beloved husband of 40 years, Dallas Wycoff, who was her world and best friend. Together they raised a loving family and experienced both the joys and tribulations of life. Dallas passed away in 2006, when her world forever changed. She was always caring and thoughtful. She was also very compassionate and strong-willed. She loved all children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and watching game shows. Simply put, her family described her as “awesome.”

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Joyce (Brian) Alexander of Marysville and Melinda Ross of Delaware; treasured grandchildren, Megan, Kara, Shayna, Derrick, Nick, and great-grandchildren, Blaze, Ella, Parker, Dallas who know her as “Mae Mae;” brothers, Mervin (Dorothy) Thomas of Marion and Allen “Pete” (Betty) Thomas of Delaware; and dear canine companions, Stewart and Gizmo.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Raymond Thomas; and sisters, Juanita Bennett and Esther Colgan.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Jeff Slider officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
