Speed boats to roar at Alum Creek

March 1, 2013

Do you feel a hunger for God in your life and wonder how you might fill it? A March weekend retreat may be just the way to discover how to do that.

The Sisters of the Precious Blood and Missionaries of the Precious Blood will host a joint vocation discernment retreat, “Hungry for God,” for Catholic young adults Friday through Sunday, March 11-13. Locations will be at St. Charles Center in Carthagena and the Maria Stein Spiritual Center in Maria Stein.

The retreat is for women and men completing high school or of college age and older who are thinking about a vocation to religious life as a Catholic priest, brother or sister. During the weekend, in addition to presentations and personal and communal prayer, participants will also be able to meet with Sisters and Missionaries of the Precious Blood, as well as with others considering religious life.

In addition, retreat participants will enjoy a social, tours of the Maria Stein Center and St. Charles Center, presentations on the discernment process and the formation journey, and opportunities to take part in a holy hour and Eucharistic devotions, as well as Mass on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend begins Friday evening with dinner and concludes early Sunday afternoon. Meals are included.

Both the women’s apostolic religious congregation and the religious society of priests, brothers and lay associates work in a variety of ministries in the United States and internationally. In the spirit of their shared Precious Blood spirituality, both the Missionaries and the Sisters of the Precious Blood work to foster healing, reconciliation and God’s redeeming love wherever they serve.

There is no cost for the retreat, but reservations are requested by Friday, March 4. For more information, men may call Father Vince Wirtner at (937) 248-6224.
