While it was ulti­mately one of only six Ohio coun­ties that passed the con­tro­ver­sial mea­sure, Issue 2 drove the high­est voter turnout for an off-year Delaware County gen­eral elec­tion in more than 20 years.

The 5-year renewal of the Delaware-Morrow Men­tal Health and Recov­ery Ser­vices Board levy was never in ques­tion Tues­day night; it passed hand­ily by a 61 to 49 per­cent mar­gin, accord­ing to com­plete but unof­fi­cial results with the Delaware County Board of Elections.

About a week after pry­ing loose a $150,000 fund­ing increase to pay employee salaries through the rest of the year, Delaware County Sher­iff Wal­ter L. Davis III on Mon­day asked county com­mis­sion­ers for a seven-figure bump for next year.

Former sheriff gearing up for commissioner run

For­mer Delaware County Sher­iff Al Myers is gear­ing up for a return to polit­i­cal life and intends to run for Delaware County com­mis­sioner next year, although past crim­i­nal con­vic­tions may pre­vent him from doing so.
