In what has become an annual end-of-year tradition, the Delaware County commissioners clashed this week with the county sheriff over his budget request. Sheriff Walter L. Davis III is asking the commissioners for a $21.3 million budget for 2012, up from $17.8 million granted to sheriff’s office this year.
One of the two co-directors of the Delaware County Board of Elections has been fired. The four-member board that oversees the county’s election office on Wednesday voted unanimously to dismiss Democratic Board of Elections Director Brian Mumford.
The number of roundabouts in Delaware County will increase next year following an agreement to seek a contractor to build the county’s next one.
