Retiring Delaware General Health District Commissioner Fran Veverka stands next to the plague that renames the Delaware County General Health District building at 1 W. Winter St. after her.  Veverka is retiring from her position after more than 30 years and the building is being renamed in recognition of her “dedicated service to the citizens of Delaware County.” Today is Veverka’s final day at the helm of the health district. The Internal Revenue Service recently announced that it will delay accepting all 2012 tax returns by eight days, pushing the acceptance of both e-file and paper tax returns to Jan. 30. Today was the originally scheduled start date. (Gazette | Liz Robertson)
