There is a difference of opinion in my house about eating citrus. My husband was taught by his mother to peel all of the white stuff off the outside of an orange. A small speck of anything that is not orange is unacceptable.
Every time I reach down to that cool dark spot in my cupboard to pull out an onion I feel like I am searching for gold. These yellow spheres are valuable. They may only cost a few dollars a bag, but these nuggets of juicy goodness spell good health to me.
As the new year signaled the purchase of a new calendar, it also urges many of us to buy into the fact that this is the time of year to lose weight. The word d-i-e-t has become a code word for sacrifice, deprivation and spandex suits.
