Every time I reach down to that cool dark spot in my cupboard to pull out an onion I feel like I am searching for gold. These yellow spheres are valuable. They may only cost a few dollars a bag, but these nuggets of juicy goodness spell good health to me.
As the new year signaled the purchase of a new calendar, it also urges many of us to buy into the fact that this is the time of year to lose weight. The word d-i-e-t has become a code word for sacrifice, deprivation and spandex suits.

It has been a long time since I wrote anything about cookies. Usually I remind readers that although cookies are not forbidden, eating them must be limited. While talking to one man about Oreos and recommending that he eat two cookies as a serving, he admitted that he eats two strips or half of a package of Oreos as a serving. Ouch!
