Our national security depends on constant innovation, including from the defense industry.

For most teachers, hard work never pays off the way it should. It’s no secret that they are underpaid and overworked, always sacrificing for their students, families and communities. For many educators, that includes spending their own hard-earned money on classroom supplies to give students the education they deserve.

One of my most important jobs is getting resources to Ohio, that includes funding for law enforcement. I’ll use any tool available to make sure Ohio gets our fair share, or more, of federal resources.

I advocate for Linsey Griffith as the ideal candidate to represent the First Ward on Delaware City Council. While I am her husband of 20 years, I also offer a unique insight into her unparalleled qualifications. I was raised in Delaware and have witnessed our town’s transformation, and firmly believe Linsey possesses the leadership needed for its bright future.

On Nov. 7, there are three school board seats up in the Olentangy Local School District. As the state’s fourth-largest school district continues to grow, it is imperative that Olentangy voters elect those who have the most experience in guiding our district: Kevin O’Brien, Libby Wallick and Lizett Schreiber.

I love these autumn days! This week I have enjoyed sitting outside on my patio, sipping my coffee in the morning moonlight. It is dark at 6 a.m., and the sky has been clear and beautiful.

Many Ohioans are feeling the financial strain caused by record high inflation last summer and continued high prices through this year. One area that saw some of the highest price increases was the health care industry. Increased prices in health care have far-reaching consequences and longer-term effects on our mental and financial health. Unfortunately, I am painfully aware of these high prices, and I know that it’s not sustainable for my family or for other families like mine.

Have you ever tried planting hardy mums and had them fail to come back the following year? Fall mums are perennial flowers that can grow and bloom in your landscape year after year, if you handle them properly. One secret to success is to buy them before they bloom and plant them right away. The sooner you plant mums the happier they’ll be. Mums that are trapped in a small pot for too long, or allowed to dry out, rarely come back the following year. If your goal is to have hardy perennial mums, you should treat them as you would any other container-grown flower or vegetable plant.
