Delaware police report:

A woman said her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her and her daughter at their home on Applegate Lane Thursday morning. When officers arrived, they found the man passed out on the sidewalk, near a damaged mailbox. The woman said the man had also damanged the mailbox. Police found him to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and charged with assault and criminal damaging. He was also charged with possession of marijuana after drugs were found on him. He was taken to the county jail.

A man said someone stole his identity and listed him in a crash report with another law enforcement agency Thursday afternoon. After an investigation, officers learned the situation was a clerical error in the accident paperwork and the man’s identity had not been stolen.

A 66-year-old man said someone had entered his car in the area of North Washington Street and stole several things Wednesday morning. Police took a report and were able to locate all the missing items. The items were returned to the man and arrests were made in the case.

Several vehicles parked on Orchard Heights and West Fountain Avenue were entered Wednesday morning. Residents reported the vehicles were unlocked and items were stolen from several of them. Police are investigating.

A teenage girl left her home in the 400 block of West William Street without permission Wednesday morning. She was soon located and brought home by police. No charges were filed.

A woman was caught shoplifting at Meijer Wednesday afternoon. Police arrived, spoke to store employees and arrested the woman. She was charged with felony theft and taken to the Delaware County Jail.
